Could this be an apt Ending?.....

Well guys this is not the actual part or the climax of the story which I have drafted, but somehow I felt like putting up this other thought of mine infront of you so that I can get your comments on this possibility…..I shall post the actual ending soon…I wish to see what each of you would respond to this.

I have started this story thinking that I will make this a happy ending. I thought I would justify the prologue and keep it a question mark between him, her and time and finally patching them up and quoting the ever used phrase “And they lived happily ever after.”

But something tingled me to post this …. So here I am..

Sarathi was waiting for Ruchi on a bench, trying to calm himself though he is tensed. Ruchi came elegantly towards Sarathi and started to speak trying to hit right on the point.

“Sarathi I know that you love me so much and have been waiting for my reply for a long time. I like you and I feel happy for having such a nice friend as you. Now listen carefully, I have got a call from my parents and they want me to get married to a guy who is working in Canada, they have almost finalized the match and are planning an engagement next month. I am their daughter and they have every right to take decisions about my life, so I want to abide them and keep my family reputation good and make them happy. I hope you would understand me.”

Sarathy was shocked and couldn’t understand what to do and how to talk….

“Ruchi, I ask you only one question…Do you love me? May be your parents want you to get married to some guy that’s fine but all I want to know is your heart. So please let me know…Do you love me?”

“It doesn’t make any sense Sarathi, when I say I am gonna get engaged next month, what makes u ask me if I love you?”

“No, it does matter to me Ruchi, all I want to know is whether the woman I love loves me or not. I may tolerate any pains but the pain of not knowing my lady’s heart wouldn’t let me stand, so please…..please tell me whether you love me”

“Sarathi all I can say is I love my parents and shall follow their wish as much as I can”

“That’s not what I asked for Ruchi…please I am not going to do any silly deeds but …please answer my question”

“Sarathi you are really troubling me”

“Ruchi please …”

“I don’t love you ok? I really don’t love you, now you got the answer so leave me alone……”

Saying this she left the place crying to her room.

“Sarathi felt the ground breaking under his feet, he felt so lonely at that very moment. He sat there at the park in total despair when his phone rang”

“Hi Sarathi its me Abhi, I don’t know what Ruchi have spoke to you but all I want to let you know is that Ruchi loves you, as much as you do. I know Ruchi, she herself told me a million times that she loves you and now for any reasons I can’t see her killing her heart like this. Sarathi you are a great guy and you would keep this gal happy, so what I feel is approach her parents about this saying that you love her.”

“What!! What did you say Abhi? Ruchi loves me? ohh you have no idea what you did by letting me know this. Thank you so much my dear friend”

Sarathi’s world started rejuvenating with hope. He immediately called Ruchi and told her, tried convincing her that he would talk with her parents. Ruchi said ok.With that he called up her parents and spoke about the issue. They obviously didn’t expect this so were dumbstruck and immediately outraged with all this. They told him to be away from her and that they have confirmed the match for her and no more talks on this issue is allowed. Sarathi tried all possible ways to convince them but none worked.

Ruchi had to go to India, Sarathi went along and tried his luck again with her parents, and this heated up their rage. They chuck him out of the door. Even Sarathi’s parents couldn’t help his son.

Ruchi wasn’t ready to go and marry Sarathi without her parent’s permission and neither did Sarathi wanted this.

Ruchi got married. She left to Canada with her husband. She was definitely not happy with this marriage but she had to be happy or atleast try being happy.

Few days after Ruchi’s marriage, Sarathi’s parents married Sarathi with a gal and sent the newly wedded to America.

Unlike many lovers who failed to marry, these lovers didn’t try killing themselves. Instead they started sharing their lives with someone else and lead their own lives with hope.

Years passed by Ruchi got out of her despair and hoped to find love from his husband’s heart and she did. On the other hand Sarathi, became a responsible husband.

Its New year’s eve and it was party time!!! There were celebrations all around, people greeting each other wishing a very happy and joyous new year. Ruchi and her husband; Sarathi and his wife met there in that party. There was a moment of silence between Ruchi and Sarathi, their eyes greeted each other and saw each other’s better halves and thought “I was supposed to be there, beside my love.” But it was only for a moment, a smile sprung up on each faces and they happily introduced each other to their life partners. Neither of them forgot each other and neither of them have regrets. They individually worked on to make their lives happy and to find their love in their life partners. If they have married each other, they must have been happier from the very moment they got married. Now though they have missed each other terribly at the initial stages, their new love soothed their hearts and made them feel happy for being theirs. And now they are happier and will be happy forever.

This is reality guys, not all love stories end saying that ‘they lived together happily ever after’. And if you expect that all love stories should end in marrying each other, if not ending their lives under the name of love.., then I am sorry my dear friend, you got to be realistic and practical. Human life is so precious. No matter what happens one should never try ending up their lives. To live with hope brings the joy and reason for living. Love is not life, it is merely a part of life. Dying for one person’s love and shattering all the dreams of your parents, abandoning your loved ones is meaningless. Its just matter of minutes my friends…just minutes. If you realize that there are people who care for you and that they love you, you certainly wouldn’t die for that so called valentine of yours. People often question “what is life without love?” I agree, there is no life without love, but all I want them to answer is “What is love without life?” When you are not alive and are not giving Love another chance to enter into your life then how do you justify your love? What tribute are you really trying to pay for Love by piling up corpses in the name of eternal divine love? Hope …. Hope is what drives our lives, when you ask others to give you a second chance in many issues, why don’t you let your own life have another chance of finding love? …. and who knows may be you deserve better and may be you will find an ever lasting love for your life…..

Just have faith in Love and hope in life.

It was evening; the air was soft trying to whisper many things, with grass caressing their feet and just to add on more excitement it started snowing. Sarathi and Ruchi were walking in a park, a quite and sensible park indeed. Both of them know whats gonna happen that day. Sarathi took a step ahead and took her hand in his. He looked into her deep brown eyes. She felt as if he is looking into her heart through her eyes.

“Ruchi, I… I have told you this few times before but was never felt so emotional and committed, now here I go.. I don’t promise you the world neither would I promise you the precious diamonds. All I would is my loving heart. I promise you the happiness and an undying love from me. Ruchi may be I cannot be happy without you in my life, If you say yes to me I will be the happiest person on earth. Ruchi I am in love with you and want to marry you. If it is ok for you I would approach our parents for their consent. Now what all I have to say, I have told you now its you who hold the answer”

Though this was very normal,flat and formal fashioned thing...,
Ruchi was overjoyed she always thought he just loved her and she never really thought of getting married and settled. The moment she heard him saying that he wanna marry her, she was left with no words. Tears of joy filled her eyes, but never rolled out.

Seeing her silence and tear filled eyes (he thought them to be out of joy at the same time he is afraid if she is crying really), Sarathi spoke again “I know may be its not fair for me to expect an answer rite away. I would wait for your reply no matter how long you take, but do let me know your reply either yes or no.”

He drove her back to her apartment.On the way back, she tried stealing few blushy looks at him.He dropped her and waved her bye, she too wished him a good day and left into her room. Ruchi was so excited and was so happy. She tried to picture the whole evening again. Next moment she wanted to call him and say “yes” to him. She looked for her phone and as she was about to call him, the phone rang. She wondered if it was Sarathi but no it was from her parents back from home (India). They spoke usual things for a while and then started to tell her that they have been looking matches for her and finally filtered out to a guy who is working in Canada and that they were almost at verge of confirming the match as the guy liked Ruchi as well.

Ruchi was shocked, she didn’t know what to say, she stood there listening them silently not speaking a word. On the other side, her parents felt that she is just blushing and kind of embarrassed. They hang up with that conclusion. Next sec she received an email of this guy’s picture, his details including his phone number and e-mail id.

Ruchi didn’t know what to do. She wanted to call her parents and tell them about Sarathi, but she couldn’t. She called up Abhi and told him what had happened.

Abhi suggested her to tell about this to Sarathi. Ruchi thought again, she is sure that her parents wouldn’t accept this as they will have to cancel the whole thing and will find this as an issue throwing their prestige in jeopardy. She also thought of what could this impact on Sarathi.

Ruchi never told Sarathi of her love till now. So she thought it would be better for her to kill her heart and say a ‘No’ to him and convince him on this decision of her.

{Though loving each other, these two lovers love their parents a lot and would not dare neglecting or rejecting them at any cost. They believe that their parents would choose the best for them and that they are on high position than anyone else including the ones they love.}

Next day morning Ruchi went to Sarathi. Sarathi was tensed to hear about what she has got to tell.
